And it continues
Looks like I'm closing in on the elusive halfway mark (for Nano, anyway
-- it's the 1/4 mark for the entire book). Would've gotten more done,
but I spent a goodly chunk of the day putting up blinds and curtains
in the master bathroom, stapling down padding for the attached walk-in
closet/changing room, and cutting carpet so that Lyndon could install
it. Poor Brit, he came down absolutely soaked in sweat after that (it's
a lovely closet, but there's no air circulation in there whatsoever --
I lost a couple of pounds in water weight in pure sweat every time I
went in there to paint the walls).
Yeah, yeah, I know -- why am I turning in Spackle Woman, Maid of Mortar
during Nanowrimo? Shouldn't I be writing? Yes, well, as Lyndon pointed
out, the master bathroom and closet have been practically unusable while
we've been finishing various things, so now that we've been in the house
for a full year it might be nice to, oh, be able to use more than just
the toilet and one sink, plus moving all the crap that's been stored
in our bedroom into the closet would give us, well, an actual bedroom.
In fact, we're even going out to the Dump in a bit to look at bedroom
furniture -- we have the Hollywood frame that came with the mattresses,
a dresser that I need to put into the guest room, a couple of small plain
side tables, and two plastic chests of drawers, and that's about it.
Since we are grownups, now, it might be nice to have real bedroom
furniture for once.
