EASTER

Happy Zombie Jesus Day!

Yeah, yeah, I know I'm gonna burn. Being serious for a moment, may everyone who celebrates it have a wonderful, peaceful and loving Easter.

Okay, enough of that crap -- let's talk about me. In reference to the subject line, this has indeed been a busy, creative and podcast-laden weekend, so much so that I have a whole bulleted list of stuff I've been doing since Friday night:

  • The checkbook is balanced and all the bills are out in the mail, which means that my purse is about 5 pounds lighter and I don't have to jam crumpled receipts back into the side pocket whenever I buy something.

  • The tax paperwork is in progress and will be ready for mailing to the accountant tomorrow. I don't know if we'll be getting anything back, but fingers are crossed nonetheless.

  • The laundry is all done -- I can find clean underwear again without hunting through an Everest of clean but unfolded clothing. Huzzah!

  • I've been downloading and listening to some fabulous podcasts over the weekend -- We're Mean Because You're Stupid, Pod is My Copilot, and The QCast Connection. With the last one, I was absolutely delighted to discover that one of the 'casters is an old friend, so we've exchanged some fun emails and I left them a voicemail in the smokiest voice I could manage. There was mention of a seaside resort, a moonlit night, and an inflatable kiddie pool full of banana pudding. I believe it will be appreciated.

  • Crocheting has been committed -- I have one finished cap and one cap in progress for a friend who is currently undergoing chemo. The finished cap is achingly romantic, and the in-progress cap is casual, spunky and goes perfectly with jeans. Even better, the in-progress cap is being made with yarn I bought before Christmas, so I'm actually whittling away at the yarn stash. Of course, I bought five more skeins to make the romantic cap and I have shitloads left over, so the stash is just laughing at me. Anyone want a white cap with purple flowers and green ivy leaves? Please?

  • I've been working on stories and I have an idea for a new short-short. When I told it to Lyndon, he shook his head and said, "They're gonna burn you for that one." This makes me feel all warm and happy inside.

  • I'm preparing a brocade jacket for a friend, and it is SOOOOOOOOO gorgeous. I may have to make one for myself.

So, what have you all been up to this weekend?
