Yeah, it's cold
Okay, not nearly as cold as it is up north (people, you have my sympathy, truly. -3° F is just wrong), but it's chilly for the clavicle of Texas.
In response, my nesting instinct kicked in and s we were running out of pretty much everything, I wandered out with my collection of canvas shopping bags (I feel so green -- besides, these bad boys hold a shitload of stuff) and did a mondo stock up. There is now all kinds of chicken, pork and sausage in the freezer to keep Elizabeth's beef company, a bunch of veggies in the crisper waiting to be turned into stir fry, jars in the pantry, sliced turkey and bread for the boy for lunch, and a nice chicken caesar salad for me.
But not right now -- since Lyndon was feeling sniffly and poorly, I made chicken korma for dinner. Have I mentioned that we have a killer Indian market right across the street from my apartment building? And they cook samosas and other yummies on site? Mmmmm. But I just got some onion naan this time, then came back here and cooked up the chicken korma and rice, with a naan bread for the honey (trying to keep an eye on my starch intake) and we diiiiiiiiined.
Mmm. I'm full, and happy, and I get to make stir-fry tomorrow. Mmmm.
Ever wonder what my family looks like?
You may remember, Gentle Reader, that I attending my sister's surprise 40th birthday party last October. Or you may not, as I just checked last October and didn't bother to post a whole hell of a lot that month. In any case, we flew to Chicago on the urging of Stacy's best friend Kathy, and gathered with friends and family in the garage of Stacy and Mike's lake house while Kathy persuaded Stace to come out to the house on some flimsy context. The result was captured on my little camera, which takes video.
And yes, the cackling in the background is me. Upon hearing the soundtrack, the love of my life says that they should've gotten me to ADR Heath Ledger's laughter in the new Batman flick. Silly boy -- he's got to sleep sometime...
