No, I didn't vote
Mainly because the Texas primary for both parties is on March 4. I even doublechecked a couple of times, the last time when Lyndon came home and said that some talking heads on NPR said that Texas would be a player in the race. I can only presume that they meant after Texas votes. Which will be in a month.
As for who I'm voting for...it'll be a Democrat. Beyond that I'm still weighing my options.
Sometimes insomnia works in your favor...
I'm trying to shift my cycle back to days as I'm heading to the House of the Mouse with my sister and niece on Thursday, so I got up fairly early yesterday after six hours of sleep, stayed up and went to bed at 11:00 PM tired.
Naturally I woke up at 3:30 AM (naturally). However, this turned out to be a good thing as not twenty minutes after I was up the wine-dark skies opened and belched forth rain, so I ran around the apartment closing all the windows.
Since sleep wasn't quite an option, I spent a couple of hours listening to the moisture fling itself against my windows as the wind whipped around the chimney, which was a pleasant sound, and updated the FutureClassics site with the latest info until I felt sleepy again and hit the hay for a couple more hours. Got up, grabbed a bowl of Pho at my favorite place, got the Boys more kitty litter and cat food (plus a new bobble toy), came home, and suddenly felt like someone had whomped me with the dizzy stick this afternoon. Tired, more than a little nauseated, drained -- all the symptoms of a blooming bug.
"Oh, yeah, there's some sort of nasty flu making the rounds right now," Lyndon informed me when he came home and found me dozing on the couch. "Apparently it's being called the Boston flu since it's so prevalent there, and it's causing temps of 102 - 104° F."
Great. I CANNOT get sick right now. Sick is simply not an option, dude. I most definitely cannot be sick by 5:00 AM on Thursday morning, because I have to get on that plane to Orlando or there is no holiday for my sister, who has been looking forward to this for the last six months (it may have been the only thing keeping her sane for the last two weeks). So, in addition to the big bowl of pho earlier I am pushing fluids and Vitamin C, and plan on going to sleep nice and early tonight in the hopes that a solid night's sleep (ha ha, she said weakly) will make me feel better tomorrow.
And please, if anyone has any spare health vibes going, could you send them towards the clavicle of Texas? I would be most appreciative.
