The taxes, they are off!
Mind you, for us that means gathering up all the 1099s, W2,
assorted receipts and such (and I offer humble thanks to the Gods for making
me so insanely anal-retentive about filing all the receipts in easy-to-locate
folders), and mailing them off to the accountant. Lyndon reminded me that he
did buy Silverback last year, so we may be eligible to get the sales tax back,
which would be nice.
And I finished a chunk of contract work (and discovered that my check for the last chunk arrived on Saturday, which was a goodness), so all I really have to do is round up the info I need to send to my friend who's setting up a shopping cart for one of my clients, and all the major stuff I wanted to do this weekend is done. Yay!
Now I just have to make up my backlog on UNDERCOVER GODMOTHER
(the count at right isn't completely correct, but I don't feel like digging
out the thumb drive and calculating the actual word count) and I can really
kick back and relax.
Speaking of relaxing, I certainly hope my nephew Mike is kicking back right now, as today is his 21st birthday and I suspect a great deal of partying went on after midnight last night in downstate Illinois. I still can't believe that the little baby with ears like Yoda and the merriest smile in the world is now an official grownup.
And yes, I'm so very proud of him.
