A beautiful day in the Metroplex
You can smell rain in the air here in the Metroplex, which
always makes Texans happy (as Elizabeth Moon has said, drought warnings appear
after the last rainfall). For some reason I pretty much crashed for a three
hour nap earlier this evening, and I'm increasingly tempted to stagger back
to bed -- I don't know if it's a virus or the knock-on effect of having a comfortable
mattress and pillow combo or what, but sleep is very appealing right now.
And I have an amazing amount of work to do over the weekend, but I'm not
too fussed about it -- things will get done when they get done, and it's all
good.
Damn you, PBS!
Our DVR is automatically timed to the PBS station on our cable, which makes perfect sense under most situations. Unfortunately, said station doesn't seem to have set its clock correctly after the plague that is DST rolled through the area; after wondering why we'd missed a number of favorite shows and were recording a basketball game for no good reason, we automatically reset our DVR clock and were dismayed to see the "current" time set for an hour earlier...and a day later.
All of which means that not only did we not get an ep of HOUSE last week, but I also missed this week's episode of Criminal Minds. Damn spit dirty socks!
It has occurred to me...
That I may have been unusually cranky these last few weeks. If the vitriol has spilled over onto anyone, I do apologize. I've been worried about a couple of things, and it's shortened my temper somewhat. As of last night, however, things took a turn for the better, so I feel that I can relax.
And I'll try and practice restraint in the future.
