The Journal :: Nekkid, Clueless and Feelin' Good

Oh, yeah, I have a journal, don't I?

Sorry about that. My extended absence was a combination of continuing sinus problems, burnout from trying to get too much done in a short amount of time, and general enuii. But as the man in the plague cart said, "I'm feeling better!"

So, what's been up with me? Well, I'm still plugging along on UNDERCOVER GODMOTHER with a goal to be finished by the end of April, I'm working on two short stories for submission to anthos, another story idea bubbled to mind (not a very pleasant one, but it was inspired by a not-very-pleasant news story today), and various other projects are bubbling along on the back burners. I also just finished a website for a friend's mother, and I'm rather pleased with the way it turned out (we came up with a nifty way to set her apart from her competitors, and she's very happy with it). I still have some stuff to do for my main website client, and I need to get the tax information put together and mailed off to the accountant, but that'll all get done this week.

Healthwise, I've been dealing with sinus ick and a cold for lo these past two weeks, and I desperately need an allergy shot (I've got a date with the needle on Friday morning), but taking off yesterday and sleeping for most of it has done wonders -- now I only feel slightly dead, and I plan on using the spandy new treadmill the picosecond I can do it without passing out over the handlebars. There are other issues going on in the house, but I can't talk about them right now -- good vibes, however, are always appreciated.

Oh, and in pleasant publishing news, it seems that my story "The Padre, the Rabbi and the Devil His Own Self" has officially received international critical praise, namely from British fan site Concatenation. Since it's a rather large page, I will claim fair use and post the sentence regarding my story:

"Issue two has an absolutely delightful comedy horror with a great 'churchianity' message by Melanie Fletcher called 'The Padre, the Rabbi, and the Devil His Own Self'."

"Churchianity" -- I like it. They also liked the other stories in the Fall issue, which simply goes to show that they are people of excellent and refined taste, and I really need to publish stuff in Great Britain more often. Hee.

So, what's up with you?
