Well, it could have been worse
At least I got paid today, which meant that a whole bunch o' bills were given checks and sent out into the Wide World of Postal Deliveries. I even started paying off the credit cards (yes, I ran them up somewhat during my sabbatical, and now I will pay them off -- I did it before, I can do it again, no biggie), and I have more than enough for food, household stuff and even a treat or two (probably yarn -- I don't know why but I am on this insane crocheting kick).
On the annoying side, I have to Have Words with our complex manager first thing tomorrow morning about jumping the gun with regards to some unpleasant paperwork that I do NOT appreciate, considering that 1) we've been here for six years and we're good tenants, and 2) they'd already received $50 for a late payment fine. If it's not one thing, it's another, I swear.
And I also need to crank out another 800 words on UNDERCOVER GODMOTHER to get back up to speed.
Ba da BING!

Today's Escalation: During a gym period softball game, Maria accidentially pitches a softball right into the face of one of the Hip Chicks, causing her nose to gush blood like a hematological Niagara. The Hip Chick, who up until this time was the only one of the HCs who didn't actively dislike Maria, now thinks she did it on purpose; worse yet, Maria gets detention from the now-suspicious gym teacher. Her coach intervenes so that she can play in the soccer game that afternoon, but adds laps after the game. Maria, quite understandably, is feeling rather abused, and things aren't going to improve when she finds out that her mom is going out to dinner with Ben that night.
Wow, I can be mean when I really try.
