I love Central Market

For those of you not familiar with this wonderful store, it's HEB's upmarket/gourmet branch, featuring food from around the world, a fish counter that is divine, a section with all kinds of gourmet kitchen implements and other goodies, a bakery that makes me drool every time I walk past, and a wonderful prepared foods section where you can get everything from flank steak to roast asparagus to homemade burritos to pot pies -- very nice.

And since there is a Central Market within easy distance of my office, I've been trying to stop there for lunch (it's a heck of a lot healthier than the alternatives) and pick up stuff for dinner, as well. Last night, we had organic herb grilled chicken, rosemary potatoes with garlic and olive oil, and yummy roast asparagus for dinner, with chocolate-covered strawberries for dessert, and tonight is going to be coconut chicken tenders. Ummmmm...

Sound off like you got a pair!

Holy crap moment: I can't believe I'm actually closing in on halfway done. And what continues to amaze me is how bloody organic this whole book is -- every time I turn around I'm learning something new and important about a character. It's not always a big thing, but even the small traits combine to make up the whole character. And something that I think is really, really good -- my bad guy (well, girl) is showing depth and complexity. She's still a nasty little bugger, but I now understand why she's such a nasty little bugger (having a parent who treats you like a fashion accessory is never good), and why she feels threatened by my heroine. Cool...
