And the morning progresses
In the process of getting all my con ducks lined up into a row, I put together my WFC membership form last night and mailed it off this morning (unfortunately I have to wait until I'm a member to reserve a room at the main hotel -- I think I'll wait a week, then fax in the room reservation anyway). Seeing as last year's WFC was where I was invited to submit to an antho and introduced to two agents and a publisher, hell YES I'm going this year.
Next, I had a chat with La Reine (aka Esther Friesner) this morning about Worldcon, and made a sad discovery -- once again, Worldcon and Dragon*Con are being held on the same weekend (Worldcon hasn't been on Labor Day weekend for the last two years, which led this bear of little brain to forget all about the conflict). And since we already have rooms and flights reserved for Atlanta and will have memberships soon, it looks like Japan is indeed a lost horizon. Well, poop.
On the plus side, ConDFW is in two weeks, and with any luck I'll have not one but two new shorts from which to read (depending on how fast I can plow through "Princess Lizzie and the Pirate Queen"). Ah, the life of a jobbing writer...
It is dangerous
To have a Lane Bryant so close to my office. Close enough that stopping in there during lunch takes no effort whatsoever, and is in fact a fine way to build an appetite.
Errgh. Two tunics and a faaaaaaabulous white dress shirt with the most wonderful bodice-like construction and gently slanted square neckline, I am $87 poorer, but at least I will indeed look spiffy at various future events.
And back to the slog at hand

The ongoing escalation: Maria's 16th birthday party has just been sabotaged big time by Ginnifer and the Hip Chicks. All is not lost, thanks to a last-minute road trip with Lottie and Michaela, but Maria is now out for blood. You just don't piss off women from the South Side like this. Mwahahahaha...
