I love it when I hit a goal
And
that, mesdames and messieurs, is me at the finish line for Novel_in_90 over
at LiveJournal (in addition to the 10,258 words I wrote last year, I just finished
67,757 words in the last 87 days).
Not that I'm done, mind you -- I still have around 12K to go on the novel. But ah, it feels good to reach a goal. Of course, once I do have Undercover Godmother finished and put aside to settle I need to write two short stories for some anthos toot sweet. This writing gig is never really over -- you think you can take a break, but then you find some story twittering in the back of your mind and the next thing you know there's 1000 words on your screen and you're Googling for Gaelic proper names or the name of Agent McGee's book from NCIS (still don't know that one, dammit).
Then again, the more stuff I get out there, the more attention I get and the closer I come to feeling like an honest-to-Boombah pro. Wouldn't mind a big acrylic paperweight or rocket, either, come to think of it...
Alanis Morrisette Crunks!
Yes, the Queen of Angst dug down and found a healthy sense of humor, thank you very much, and used it to film the most fabulous cover of Fergie's "My Humps" ever (I'm sorry, Will Ferrell, but it's true). Put down the liquids before you click, trust me.
