Doing the Moldavian Dance of Joy
For I have just found out who is going to do the cover of Sabre
Dance, and it is none other than Mitch
Foust, who did the cover for the Chicks
in Chainmail antho Turn the Other Chick. This man KNOWS how to do buff
babes with armor, and I am one happy author!
And just in case you're wondering, no, this is NOT an April Fool's joke. People probably heard my "EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" throught the state of Texas.
So let's be formal about it:
My novella Sabre Dance will form half of the #4 Double Dog from Yard Dog Press. I'll be sharing book space with the insanely talented Laura J. Underwood, whose short novel The Lunari Mask has been described as "The Pirates of the Carribean meet Granny Weatherwax." It should be out by fall of 2007, and I expect everyone to buy a copy because it's totally going to kick ass (or as I posted in Laura's newsgroup, it's a guaranteed slam dunk for anyone who likes swashbuckling pirates, bloodmages, bellydancing musketeers, canny wise women, daring rescues, foreign climes, and snarky impromptu investigators).
Cover art for Sabre Dance will be by Mitch Foust, and cover art for The Lunari Mask will be by John Kevin Hopkins. And there was much rejoicing!
Speaking of writing
For lo, I have written 2,237 words on Undercover Godmother today, and as a result my reaction to pretty much everything is, in a word, "Buh." And I suspect I'm really going to need to go back and fill in some items in order to make later events happen more naturally, but that's something that can be done in the edit.
