It's GOOD to have a Bodacious Brit
Over the last week or so, I realized I was running into a real
problem with BEST PROTECTION; namely, that it was going to end about 10K sooner
than it had to. Since this simply wasn't acceptable, I fell back on my best
resource -- the husband. He knew this was a Dumas-esque pastiche, so he suggested
a subplot that fits in perfectly with the story (and inspired me to buy some
jewelry at Buchanan's antique fair this weekend -- hey, I'm a sucker for the
shiny). Once I do the required backfilling, it'll neatly bump up the total
wordcount to the required 45K.
Speaking of which, my latest word count:
24,550 / 45,000 (54.6%)
If I bump up the daily word count to 2K and really bust a move over the three day weekend, I could just about have it all finished by the end of the month -- whee!
The House Season Finale
Three words:
Remote-control foreplay.
Methinks the good doctor doth protest too much...
