Always nice to get good numbers from the doc

I had my yearly checkup last week, complete with fasting blood pull to test my thyroid and triglyceride levels. The nurse called me today to say that practically everything was normal -- my total cholesterol is 156, and my HDL and LDL are normal (which is always fun because it confuses doctors when they look at my heroic-sized frame and expect to see cardiac problems). My blood pressure and thyroid levels are also normal, and there's no sign of cancer or other lurking yucks -- yay!

The only abnormality is that my triglycerides are still slightly elevated, but since all my other numbers are normal the doctor isn't worried about this. A "slight" elevation is actually a huge improvement from the astonishingly high tri-g levels I used to have, thank you polycystic ovaries -- once I was diagnosed with PCOS and started on glucophage to resensitize my cells to insulin, I suspect my levels improved mightily.

All in all, things are going well on the medical front. Now I just have to get the yearly gland-squashing out of the way, and I'm good for 2006.
