That's all, folks!

So I took off more extra text, incorporated the rest of the outline, wrote what I think is a very funny, romantic ending, realized that it topped out at 106K, and realized, whoa, that's it for my first novel. I'm going to let it simmer for a bit while I wrap up some other projects and earn money for kibble (after all, I am the Kibble Beyotch, as the Boyz like to remind me), and then I'll start editing it in April or so. Why April? Because I need some distance from this puppy right about now.

In any case, Mellie is a happy, happy writer bunny. It's kind of like I have this little monkey in my head who keeps doing the Snoopy Dance and chittering, "It's DONE it's DONE it's DONE." Of course, the real work comes when I start editing it -- I suspect this will require a machete, the ruthlessness of Karl Rove, and a lot of liquid muscle relaxant...

Hmm -- Susan Shwartz buys nice jewelry when she sells a book. Maybe I should do the same...
