There's a new SF e-zine in town, pardner!

Here's the news, folks: I am pleased as punch to announce the launch of a new on-line sf/fantasy magazine, Helix: A Speculative Fiction Quarterly.

What can I say -- it was started because a bunch of writers got heartily sick and tired of watching extremely publishable stories get rejected because they push the envelope. Hell, isn't that what spec fic is SUPPOSED to do? So we put together an ezine that features the talents of, among others, Janis Ian, Adam-Troy Castro, Rick Bowes and Steven H Silver.

I'm also extremely proud to count myself in the ranks of staff members such as William Sanders, Lawrence Watt-Evans, John Barnes, Doranna Durgin, Beth Bernobich, Lynn Calvin, Amy Sheldon, Bud Webster, Berry Kercheval and Robert Brown (yours truly is the web designer, and I'm hoping to have a story accepted for Issue #2). We may be a loud and rowdy bunch, but damn if we're not doing our best to bring you some excellent, thought-provoking speculative fiction in the vein of Dangerous Visions.

After all, as our beloved Senior Editor and Mean Old Bastard Emeritus says, "If we're not offending people, we're doing something wrong."

Take a look at at the mag, if you get a chance -- no registration or subscription necessary, although we do welcome donations via USPS and PayPal. And enjoy!
