Oh, hell, not again...
Woke up this morning feeling like I'd been worked over with
a baseball bat. Nauseated, head hurt, glands all swollen and achy, bleah.
And it can't be a sinus infection because I just FINISHED a Z-pack a week ago. I hate this weather with a passion -- I hate feeling sick all the time, I hate the dryness, I hate all the crap kicked up into the air, I hate the winds that give me screaming sinus headaches, bah. And people wonder why I want to get the hell out of Texas?
So I called into work sick (which I really, REALLY didn't want to do, because I was trying to make up for having Monday off as it was) and went back to bed. Altogether I slept for about 14 hours. Eating something helped a little bit, but I still feel hot and achey. Should've known -- it's the weekend, so of course I'll spend it sick.
And the truly annoying thing is that I really want to work on the entry for the next Bubbas antho, and a partially finished story is really bugging me for attention. Getting the brain on line, however, is going to be something of a challenge...
On the other hand, I OWN MY CAR!!!
With a couple of keystrokes, I transferred three months' worth
of payments to Texans Credit Union, plus the $1.81 remaining in interest, and
wiped out that debt.
The Hoosiermobile is now mine all mine -- YAY!
This is the start of the Great Paying Off of Bills phase -- next month will see this laptop completely paid off, and the next two months after that will zero out the credit cards (which climbed due to the cost of building a dollhouse and the extensive vet bills from JJ's eye).
After that, I start chunking money away like a crazy thing, both as investment for retirement, and some in a little box marked "Yokohama in '07 or Bust."
And man, it feels gooooooooood.
