Exercising
And
no, this isn't a resolution -- basically, it's because
I was tired of always feeling achy, weary and weak, so I started weightlifting
again. So far, I've been doing it, plus cardio, for a week.
It's interesting -- I've noticed that it's very hard for me to feel depressed after I work out, which is a big plus. I've also noticed that I get ferociously hungry (in a "Must eat NOW. A small child -- that'll do" way), so I've been trying to eat five or six small meals comprised of healthy food scattered throughout the day. Strangely enough, that's actually more difficult to do than the exercise itself. Obtaining healthy food isn't the problem -- it's convincing myself that yes, it's OKAY to eat this much, you SHOULD be eating this much, that is the hard part.
But I'm trying. And I must say that it's very nice to see the dim, vague hint of muscle outlines again. Now if I could only fix a certain problem -- to put this politely, things are somewhat backed up along the Hersey Highway. I'm hoping that a nice big bowl of Kashi puffed grains will get things moving, because we do NOT want to repeat the experience of February 2004, no no no owie.
In other news, happy birthday to the insanely talented Selina Rosen, and it looks like we'll be having six more weeks of winter according to Punxsutawney Phil, to which I reply, "What winter?"
