Things that make Mellie happy

  • It's payday, and I got slightly more than I thought (short paycheck due to the vacation). Monies have already been assigned to the credit card that took the parking fee hit, and I'll fire off a check to Amex tonight.  God, but I love zeroed-out plastic.
  • Because I have slightly more money than I thought, I'm going to hit my favorite yarn store tomorrow and indulge in some stash expansion.  It's just slightly cheaper than drugs, and more socially acceptable.  Besides, I read a blog that contained a picture of some absolutely gorgeous blue-green yarn and wooden knitting needles to die for, and I must have them.
  • It's Friday, which means I have a weekend ahead of me in which I can try to get some sleep.  Hey, it could happen.  And the apartment is still relatively clean from last week -- a fast vacuum and some dusting, and it's all shiny.
  • Starting next week, I'll be telecommuting from home twice a week.  Sweet. Of course, this means I have to clean out the home office this weekend, but we're having a houseguest in a couple of weeks so it had to be done eventually.
  • Lyndon starts his new day job on Monday -- I get to sleep with my husband on a regular basis again! (And yes, people, I mean sleep.)
  • UNITED 93 opened today.  Not that this makes me happy, given the subject matter, but I do want to see it.
  • I'm thisclose to finishing a story, which feels good.  It was hard to find the funny necessary for this, but I think I finally caught it.
  • We've got thunderstorms heading this way.  I do love a good thunderstorm.
  • Lyndon did a stock-up yesterday, which means I don't have to go to the store until tomorrow -- yay!

So what do you all have planned for the weekend?
