The preparations are underway!
At 4:30 PM today, I am officially on vacation until 7:00 AM Tuesday morning. Whee!
Of course, my first act of being on vacation will be to go home and clean
the small bathroom and kitchen, in preparation for the friend who will be checking
on the Boyz while we're gone. No, she won't be staying there, but I'm pathologically
paranoid about people coming into the apartment when it's messy, so the public
areas will be clean, dammit, before we go anywhere.
After that, I need to do some contract work and keep my clients happy, pack a couple of bags, print off pertinent info such as our flight details, hotel reservation and the route to my aunt's house, and we're ready to fly. I may even be wild and crazy and pack something to knit while I'm there, who knows.
What I do know is, I will be relaxing, and having a good time, and not worrying about anything until Tuesday morning. Because I need this, kiddiwinkles; I need some downtime like you wouldn't believe. And as much as I need it, the Bodacious Brit (who has barely seen the sun this past year) needs it even more. So we're gonna go there and have lots and lots and lots of fun, and catch a necessary second wind.
And who knows -- if we like it, we might even come back on a more permanent basis. My aunt is already saying that T-Mobile is hiring...
