Yes, kiddywinkles -- I am debt free.
As of 5:45 PM today, I turned over $688.00 in a credit
card payment to the nice Bank of America cashier, which zeroed out the card.
This means I own my car and computer, both credit cards are clear, and Mellie
is a very happy camper indeed.
Of course, we're also heading to Seattle next weekend, and I'm aware that it's going to be somewhat expensive, she said, laughing hollowly. But I should be able to cover the travel and rooming expenses from contract income (mirable desu, I actually received a check from a rather delinquent client today. Of course, it's the smaller of the two checks they owe me, so I'll have to dun them for the other one, but at least it means we have some extra cash for Seattle), so there won't be an actual hit to the credit cards.
Yes, I'm turning cheap in my old age. But I still know how to have a good time, dammit. And all the bills are paid, and the quarterly tax payment is off, which is a huge load off my mind. Now I can spend the rest of the weekend...working.
And you wonder why I'm looking forward to Seattle so much.
