Whoo. . .

Screw enuii. I think I have a sinus infection (again, thank you former Governor Bush for ripping the guts out of the EPA in Texas) -- I got home yesterday at 6:30 PM after feeling dreadful all day. Collapsed, intending to get up when Lyndon got home, and slept until 5:00 AM. Whoa. Got up for a bit, realized I still felt crappy and went back to bed around 7:30 AM. Woke up again at 10:30 AM, suggested that we go out to IHOP and get some pancakes. This was greeted with great enthusiasm, until I realized 1) the IHOP closest to us was jammed with lunchtime customers and 2) I hadn't had anything to eat in almost 24 hours and was about to go into a blood sugar crash. We did a preventive stop at a gas station so that I could chomp on a bun, and headed out to the other IHOP across Plano (home of famed crime fighter and breakfast dish International Burrito, according to Lyndon).

Halfway through the meal, I realized there was no way I'd be able to finish it. I don't know if this is related to the metformin or what, but I seem to have developed an inability to eat more than a couple of mouthfuls at any given meal -- half the time, I can't even finish my sandwich at work, and store it as an afternoon snack. While this is probably a very healthy thing (lots of little small meals instead of three big ones), it gets a little annoying at times. (LATER -- I did some checking, and yes, apparently metformin has an appetite suppression effect -- woohoo!)

But back to the suspected sinus infection. We got home, laid down for 1) a cuddle and 2) a chance to let our lunches digest, and promptly fell asleep until 4:30 PM. Even for me, this is a bizarre amount of sleep, and I can only assume my body's trying to knock me out in order to fight an infection, and since my sinuses have been aching and running like a tap, one assumes the infection is there.

Before I head back to the doc and ask for antibiotics, though, I think I'm going to try getting a neti pot and see about flushing out my sinuses first. With the crappy air quality around here, it can't hurt.
