Interesting times
It looks like Lyndon may have not one but two competing contract offers -- he's currently waiting for a phone call on one of them, whereas the other is a guaranteed thing. Pros and cons on both sides, of course, so he's not making a decision until he gets both offers.
If nothing else, though, it means he still has a job come Monday. And that's always a good thing, especially after the general financial fraughtness of 2003.
Meanwhile, the idiots still abound, it seems
Just got the following email via Xanga's remailer system:

If
you're from Texas, what the hell do you know about being a Hoosier ?
Change your name to Texas Rose or something stupid and continue being a
southern loser under an accurate name.

Someone woke up sticky and unloved this morning, didn't they? For those of you who don't know my background, I was born and raised in Chicago, and lived in Northwest Indiana for about seven years as a young adult, which is when I first got on the net. As net.women were still few and far between at that time, I assumed the screen name of Hoosier Red (because 1) I lived in Indiana and 2) had red hair) to avoid the constant stream of "What are you wearing?" emails, and I've retained it as a nod to those days.
Hopefully this will soothe docmoss81's disconcerted feelings, and s/he/it can go back to harassing sophomores for their lunch money.
