Look! There's. . .CARPET!

Three guesses what I'm doing today, right?

Well, I haven't done any serious housework since last year, and Lyndon's been busting his already-handsome heiney getting his office into order, so once I finished the quilt it was only a matter of time until I looked around the place and went, "Oh, yuck!"

So. The washing machine's been chugging all day with clothes and bedclothes (I really wish that the local laundromat stayed open later that 7:00 PM so that I could wash the king-sized duvet -- maybe tomorrow), and in between getting my car scrubbed to within an inch of its metallic life (necessary, believe me, and it also gave me some time to work on a short story) and packaging up the quilt for its trip to Seattle, I've been trying to put away the various pieces of crap that have wandered from their proper locations, in preparation for a really good clean.

So far. . .well. . .okay, all I really did was laundry and get the car clean. But I have the rest of the night, right? Of course I'm right. Crap -- that means I have to get back to work, doesn't it?

Crap, crap, crap. . .

Oooergh

Thank the Front Office for wireless internet access. I'm currently in bed, with the laptop propped on my tummy, trying to get my lower back to unkink after a day of cleaning, doing laundry and other useful household things. And there's more to come tomorrow -- whee.

I also realized that the nice 70's quilt (at least, I'm assuming it's from the 70's, judging from the avocado and harvest gold color scheme) I bought when I first got here has finally reached the point where it's unrepairable -- the avocado patches have pretty much dissolved, and the connecting white strips are starting to fray badly. If it was just the avocado patches, I would've disassembled it and patched in new fabric, but if the connecting stuff is going as well, it's time for the bin.

However, I copied the design onto templates before I trashed the quilt, and I think I'm going to try and recreate it (in slightly more amenable colors, mind you) for our bedroom. Sometime after I finish Merry's quilt, and the quilt for my new niece, and Winter in Sweden, mind you, which means we'll get it sometime in 2007. Yes, I'm slow -- and your point is?
