Why it's always a good idea to check your dosages

I stopped off at Walgreen's to get my Metformin and new Synthroid after work. As I looked at the Synthroid scrip for .1 milligram, however, I thought, "Hmm, that dosage looks awfully low -- I should already be at .175 milligram." And bygosh, I was, so I suspect that the doc may have misread the dosage I put down on my patient forms. Eh, it happens.

In the meantime, I'm getting ready for ConDFW this weekend. Even though it's in town, I'm getting a room for the weekend -- it's nice to have a place where you can crash during the con, and we'll probably spend at least one night sleeping there (late-night room parties, dontchaknow). In fact, I'm splurging with one of the executive half-suites on top of the hotel -- it's an extra $20 a day, but what the hell. I can afford it, for once, and it would be nice to have a microwave AND a fridge in our room.

As for the con so far, it looks like I have one reading, one autographing and three panels, one of them being the de rigeur sex panel on Saturday night. The other two are "Research 101" and "The Future of Fanfic" -- I'm not quite sure why they keep putting me on fanfic panels, but Julia is the other panelist so between the two of us we can come up with something entertaining. I think it helps that neither of us sneer at fanfic -- we both wrote it, and we both know that it can be good training for original universe work AND is a lot of fun. We'll just have to see.

And best of all, Lyndon is back tonight from a rather exhausting business trip to Illinois and San Francisco, so I think I need to go slather him in attention for a bit.
