Where the hell did January go?
Man, that month seemed to just zip by. Anyway, here we are in February, I still don't have WKQA finished, I have a slew of other work waiting for me, the day job continues to be busier than hell, and Lyndon started his new contract Sunday night/Monday morning, which is good because it gets him back into the Big E but really kinda puts a crimp on our evenings. Oh, well -- that's what the weekend is for, I suppose.
On the media side of things, Comcast has slowly been installing new outlets in all the apartments in our complex for the last six weeks, and yesterday was their first official day of supplying cable. On one hand, it seems we have quite the array of channels, including three Jesus channels, as Lyndon refers to them.
On the other hand, Comcast has some sort of dual jack system where half of the channels we usually watch are on one jack, and half are on the other jack, which means we have to get up and physically plug the cable to the other jack if we want to watch the shows on it (which sucks donkey butt when you want to switch between Comedy Central and the Discovery Channel, which are, of course, on separate jacks). And no, this isn't normal -- apparently some Comcast guy is supposed to come to the apartment and install a digital cable box that will combine everything. The trick is finding time when he can come, then getting ahold of him and hoping he shows up when he's supposed to show up -- even though Lyndon has been home in the afternoons, there's been no golden knock on the door to indicate that the cable guy is there to make our lives easier.
Which is probably all for the best, admittedly -- what with Lyndon's dubbing and sorting project and my patchwork, the living room is a disaster area. We really have to clean it up this weekend, otherwise I fear for the safety of the cats -- they may wind up stored with the tapes or stitched into a quilt block.
