The Economic Widow's weekend
Since
Lyndon's not here and I'm feeling like myself for the first time in, oh, six
weeks, I've finally been able to get a lot of chores done, like spring cleaning
(I can do it when he's here, but since he's usually in the living room I can't
do anything in there because I don't want to disturb him. And yes, he's very
good about helping me clean, but there are times I just want to do it myself,
you know?).
So, the bedroom and bathroom are now spotless, and the entranceway has been brushed, swept and dusted. I also washed the covers of both cat beds and reorganized the foyer/computer nook, and I'm currently getting the stuff I'll need to frame the "Seek" poster by L.A. Williams that I won last year at Aggiecon's art show. I figure I'll hang "Seek" in our foyer where "Titania" is, and hang "Titania" in our bedroom in that big empty space on the wall.
While rummaging around in search of my mat cutter (good Lord, I have to clean out my office closet. Actually I have to clean my entire office, but the closet most definitely -- it's a freaking disaster area in there), I also stumbled across two brush calligraphy strips with our names that we had done in San Francisco after ConJose. They're simple but pretty, and Hobby Lobby has inexpensive poster frames in that size for ten bucks a pop. I figure they'll look very nice hung down near the front door.
Yes, ha ha, Martha Stewart has taken over my body, I've heard it before, and no, I'm not coming over to your house to clean. But at least the place looks nice -- I want the Bodacious Brit to return to a warm and inviting domicile next weekend, don'tchaknow.
