What a difference a day makes
The sun is shining, the birds are singing, I finished my Stargate: SG-1 essay and mailed it off to the editors this morning (bless their hearts, they sent me a reminder email, which kicked me into a frenzy of writing last night and this morning), and I may even work on PHARAOH during lunch, I feel that good.
I think the mood improvement is due to the fact that I actually wrote last night -- when I don't write on a regular basis, I get seriously antsy and cranky. I'm one of those writers who don't write because they want they -- I do it because I HAVE to. But I have now written, so all is well with the world for the moment.
I'm really hoping the editors like the essay (I think they will, although they may want me to expand on it a bit -- it's only 1500 words as it stands). The best part of writing it was finding really good quotes from the show -- luckily I have Seasons One and Two on DVD (Seasons Three and Four will be purchased once we have money again), and there are some awesome quote archives out there on the web. They're going to review it and get back to me by the end of the week for corrections and any necessary changes, but in the meantime it's off my plate. Now all I have to do is finish the contract doc, and I'll be one seriously happy camper.
And since I KNOW you wanted to know. . .
I got 457 words hammered out over lunch time on PHARAOH. David and Severna figured out how to get the hidden panel off the base of the Heart of Thoth statue -- the panel is covered with tiny, dense hieroglyphs that describe a ritual that will send Amunecket straight to the underworld.
Meanwhile, Dallas is undergoing the Sixth Plague -- swarms of cockroaches with a peculiar sense of humor. Eww. . . .
