Happy Birthday, Michael!
Yes, today is the (counts back from my age) 33nd birthday of my little brother Michael. At least, I THINK it's his 33rd -- he's five years younger than me, but I always forget if that's pre-MY birthday or post-MY birthday.
Oh, nevermind -- he's a stylish 30something, and happily ensconsed with his girlfriend in Sauk Village (I know this because I finally got his address from Stacy, since he never answers his emails. And yes, something will be arriving in the mail, pumpkin), so all is well with the world. Happy birthday, Mike!
As for me, I've had better days -- for starters, it's Monday again, which is about all that can be said about that. I actually had a somewhat decent amount of sleep last night, after moving onto the couch and turfing Jordan out a couple of times (why he is so clingy I will never know -- cats are supposed to be standoffish, aren't they?), so that's something of a plus.
Got the laundry done and the bed/bathroom cleaned, worked yet again on the contract doc (and the sooner I deliver that and can get back to writing, the happier I'll be), got a new frame for our Wizard of Speed and Time poster (it fell down sometime last week and cracked the old frame, hence the need), and tried to relax. I just keep dreaming of having a real vacation -- not a Worldcon trip, not a trip home, but an honest-to-god, sit on the beach and drink rum and cokes vacation. I'm so damn tired of being stressed all the time. What I WANT is something to look forward to (having money again, a nice trip somewhere, whatever) and I don't see that happening any time soon.
Oh, well. Things aren't actually all that bad -- I'm just grumpy, my ear's bothering me (I probably need to see the doctor about it) and I just have to vent somewhere, you know? Unfortunately for you lovely people, this is one of the only places I can vent. Never mind -- ooh, actually, I know what would cheer me up. Books. I need to go and buy some new books -- something cheap yet entertaining. Hmm, perhaps on the way home -- and a friend of mine just made me laugh, so that's a good thing, too.
So how was your weekend?
