A mite foggy out there

Or as I said this morning, "Holy shit -- someone stole Texas while we slept!"

I do believe spring has arrived -- we could get one last freeze, maybe, but I think the worst of the winter (HAHAHAHA! I kill myself, I really do) is over. And yes, the SUV drivers still blew past me doing 75-80 MPH on the turnpike. Am I wrong to hope that they die in a fiery blaze as they smash into an overpass support? Scary, scary drivers out there, my friends. However, there also seems to be the tiniest smell of the sea in the air (yes, you can get this in Texas -- we ARE on the Gulf Coast, after all), which is making me feel all homey and nostalgic. There are times when I really miss living next to a big ol' body of water (enjoy yourself while you're up there, Steve).

Not much else to report -- I was off yesterday due to the flu, and spent most of last night feeling miserable and watching Season Two of Stargate: SG-1 to mine Jackisms for the antho essay (I know -- my life is so hard). Haven't done any fiction writing this week, but I figure my muse will return with a flourish sometime on Thursday or Friday -- in the meantime I have more than enough to do, so it's not as if I feel hard done by.

And once again I find myself longing for the weekend, especially now that the house is relatively clean and I can do stuff without feeling guilty about the dust bunnies and spotted mirrors. Oh, by the way, is there anything better to wake you up and get you going than the Dave Matthews Band? I think not.
