EASTERN ORTHODOX CHRISTMAS

If I asked nicely, would Santa bring me a new, oh, never mind. . .

Even I'm not that gross, it seems. But Merry Christmas to all of my Orthodox chums out there -- I spent it writing manuals and slurping strawberry flavored Ensure, but hey, it's the thought that counts.

Speaking of thoughts, is it true that the economy is in an upswing or are the economists talking through their butts once again? Good Lord, I hope so, because if Lyndon spends any more time in front of C-SPAN I'm afraid I'm going to find him on one of those programs belittling some poor talking head.

It's just frustrating for the poor guy -- he sits there day after day, poring through job websites, submitting resume after resume, schmoozing his recruiter into putting him up for something, trying to tap all the resources he has at his disposal, and apart from the interview in December he hasn't gotten bubkes. I keep hearing that companies are going to be hiring again in January and February -- I really hope so, because there's a kick-ass systems support engineer and bug hunter here who's slowly turning into an armchair financial analyst from the lack of anything else to do.

I mean, sheesh. . .
