Money is always good

The check for my story in FUNDAMENTALLY CHALLENGED came today, so that's nice. Two contracts in two days -- dang, any more and I'm gonna start feeling like a professional writer or something.

Oh, yeah. . .I am. Hee.

Lessee, what else -- well, it looks like my boy Howard will pull out of the presidential race if he doesn't win Wisconsin, which is understandable but still kinda sucks. It's not impossible that he can still pull it off, and even if he doesn't I'm still voting for the Democratic nominee for president come November, but still, it would've been so cool to see him win the big enchilada.

However, he's gotten people interested in supporting the Democrats again, and he's served as an template for not kowtowing to the neocons, so win or lose he's definitely made an impact on the party and on the race this year. Bless him for that.

He's such a goofball. . .Speaking of blessing -- the cats aren't sneezing anymore, but they were definitely feeling poorly last night. Jordan actually curled up with me and fell asleep under the covers, which is muy unusual for him, and JJ was wandering around doing a rather good imitation of a limp dishrag.

They both seem to be perkier today, however, which may be due to the fact that I bumped up the heat. Lyndon, being from the north of England where heat is expensive, didn't want to nudge the thermostat for fear of running up the electric bill, so when I came home yesterday the place was decidedly chilly. I explained that our winter bills are negligible next to our summer ones, and to keep the apartment toasty for the boys. I know I certainly prefer it that way.

And now, I must return to my contract work and make some nice people happy -- that way, I'll get yet another check. Whee!
