My first day of relaxation

Relatively, anyway. So, how did I spend it -- did I crank out a couple of K on PHARAOH? Did I dash off a short story? Did I clean my office, do my taxes or straighten up the balcony?

Did I shit. Mainly thanks to the storm system sweeping through the area, which triggered an atypical migraine that left me freaking exhausted by the end of the freaking day. At least it's atypical and my head isn't trying to explode in pain, which is good. And it should be over by tomorrow, which is better. In the meantime, I'll live with the symptoms -- I just wish my manual deterity didn't go in the crapper whenever this happens. It can make typing a real bitch.

Longing for Europe, would you believe?

European cafes, to be specific.

There are tons and tons of places to eat in Texas, granted. However, they're much of a muchness, and if you want something to eat you have to go in to a restaurant (where chances are the item you ordered will be drenched in batter and cooked in a half-assed manner) or risk fast food.

I want to go to some nice little European cafe and order something simple but perfect, like chicken breast or a nice cut of fish with some fresh veggies on the side. I want to eat it at one of the tables on the sidewalk so that I can watch the passersby, and I want to do all of this at a nice, leisurely pace.

*sigh* Maybe next year.
