Setting the stage for summit lunches, perhaps?
Well, that was interesting. Lyndon and Tina came out to have lunch with Steve, Mike and I at Benihana's (our usual Friday hangout), and suddenly a hibachi table turned into Crossfire.
Mike and Steve usually spend lunch discussing economics and politics -- with Lyndon there, and with the obvious topic of the war on the table, it turned into a round robin that Bill Maher would have been proud to host (with the expected segues off into Britcoms, Danger Mouse, and Steve teasing Tina about her accent). Later on, Mike said that he was impressed at Lyndon's knowledge about the military aspects of the war -- he and Steve usually stick to discussing the economic and political issues. I had to explain that Lyndon watches this stuff on a nightly basis, and used to hang out with military types back in university, so it comes naturally to him.
There was the impression that he should come to future lunches and give the boys new fodder to work over. Lord knows it would be interesting as hell to watch.
Oh, and it's payday.
Mellie is a very happy camper, and will be celebrating by taking Tina to the
Galleria tonight, heh, heh, heh. . .
