Busy Busy Busy
Well, "Rose" is off to Arkansas with what I think is one of my more. . .amusing. . cover letters. Let's hope Selina thinks so, anyway. Unfortunately, I also got a ding letter from Brutarian for "Tides," so I need to find a new market for that when I get home. Oh, well.
So,
next on the schedule is -- well, did I tell y'all that I would be dancing in
the Dallas St. Patrick's Day parade as part of the Isis and the Star Dancers
troupe? Only thing is, I have to do a solo first in class to prove that I can
perform in front of other people (yeah, like there's ever been any doubt of
that), and then I have to come up with 1) a green costume that is 2) G-rated,
since we're doing this for a family audience.
Erm. . .
Well, maybe not erm -- the costume issue resolved itself when I remembered I had that gorgeous green dress from MilPhil just hanging in my closet. Add gold beads onto the fringe and coins along the sleeves and hem, toss on a gold vest and tie on a shimmy belt, and I'll be well away.
"Erm" does still apply to choreographing the solo, unfortunately. Technically it just has to be a one-minute solo, but the music I want to use ("Migra" from Santana's SUPERNATURAL) is around 5 minutes long. And, of course, things have been extremely busy at work so it's been difficult for me to get down to the gym and work on it, dagnabit.
So far, I have
the first 32 counts choreographed, and I know how it's going to end, and I know
I'll be using at least three specific steps in it at various place. But I think
there's a buttload of work ahead of me this weekend. Whee. . .
