Well, this is interesting
I
think I may have some kind of sinus bug. I feel extremely. . .disconnected.
. .when I try to do anything, almost like I'm walking through a dream. Focusing
on anything three feet away and closer is especially interesting, which has
made driving around and shopping something of an adventure.
I must say, though, this is proving to be an excellent condition for editing -- I'm reading my own stuff and saying, "No, that doesn't work. . .no, that's boring. . .cut that, move it over here. . .man, that's lame. . ." At least I'm getting something useful out of it.
Speaking
of writing, now that the submission window is open I'm hard at work on my submission
for the Yard Dog Press anthology
THE FOUR BUBBAS OF THE APOCALYPSE.
My Halitosis story is a tale of a young Bubba in love and his object of desire
that I'm calling "A Rose By Any Other Name." I'm about 500 words into it so
far, and it should be fun -- I just have to do some research on favorite (and
not so favorite) Bubba beer brands and shotgun makes (and
once again, allow me to offer up my gratitude to the government and universities
that created the internet, because it has made doing research so much easier).
On the bummer side
of the writing force, I got a bounce from SCIFI.COM for "Happily Ever After"
because it was too short. Dammit, I thought I'd checked their guidelines more
closely than that. Oh, well -- back in the mail it goes.
