Slackathor, c'est moi

Yeah, yeah -- I know I've been AWOL this past week. I'll try to go back and add relevant entries for the assorted days.

In the meantime, I've been working on a new dance costume, and oh, my eyes, my eyes. . .

No, it's not ugly. But I've spent the afternoon and evening cutting out, pinning together and sewing the back section of a belly dance skirt (thank Cthulhu for the rolled hem foot, that's all I have to say). The skirt will be a thing of beauty -- royal purple back section, streaked purple, blue and black front section, with a matching choli, purple satin harem pants and black satin bustier with beading -- but in the meantime I really, really, REALLY want my new glasses.

In the meantime, we went to the antique market at the fairgrounds today, Lyndon got a camera, I got some honey cinnamon almonds, a green Wedgwood planter and green beads for a new necklace, the place looks like Metallica has been camping here, the cats keep insisting on sitting on the damn skirt as I'm trying to sew it, and I almost accidentially punted Jordan across the apartment today (NOT my fault -- he keeps dashing in front of me and throwing himself on the ground, daft moggy). The weather is crap, I wish I could take tomorrow off (and, in fact, am tempted to postpone class until Thursday in favor of coming home and cleaning), we didn't get any of the taxes or Lyndon's resume done, and even though this was admittedly a slacker weekend I still feel pretty good.

Hey, it could be worse. I could be having another house anxiety dream.
