Oooerg

Oh, man, I am so tired. The only thing I really want to do is nod off and drool contentedly on my keyboard for a couple of hours. I think my body is still on Pacific Standard Time, so it thinks I'm insane for getting up this early.

Frankly, I'm on its side. Even the usual hair-raising ride in with the Man from McKinney (God, I missed that -- it's like a 50-minute rollercoaster ride, and I don't have to pay $35 to get into the park) didn't do much to elevate my adrenaline level. Part of this is hangover from California -- I don't know why I kept waking up every other hour while I was in San Diego, but it played hell with my REM sleep. Then I got home, woke up at 10:00 am on Sunday morning, stayed up until 2:00 AM last night due to my overactive mother hen instincts, then received my daily wakeup call from Steve around 8:00 am or so this morning. Thank Allah he was exhausted, too -- it gave me 45 minutes in which to unstick the gunk from my eyelids and try to look moderately human.

I really think we should instigate a national campaign for "Nap Time." Even a half hour with my head peacefully resting on my desk would be good right now.
