I think I'd kill for a couple of hours of sleep

I always thought you were supposed to need less and less sleep as you got older -- so why do I feel like I'm about to keel over? I got six hours of sleep last night -- isn't that enough?

Sigh. I think I'm just run down -- I've been moving at the speed of light since San Francisco, I spent part of last weekend traveling, took one day off sick but worked a full 8 hours so it was hardly a sick day, this weekend is going to be spent at ConDFW and next week I go to San Diego with yet another travel day on Saturday.

I suppose it could be worse -- I could be back on that blasted farm in Holland. But I could still do with a couple more hours of sleep.

Anyway, enough bitching: today was actually pretty cool, all things considered. I spent the bulk of the day finishing up a FAQ for one of the tools I'm documenting, and received praise from the liege and one of the beta readers (part of which is due to the brilliant analogy I came up with that compares metadata to a listing in TV Guide -- hey, I was going for the most basic concept of information ABOUT something that I could think of, okay?). Wrapped up the afternoon with my first training script, then headed out to the airport to pick up the Man from McKinney, who was in a surprisingly good mood (I assume from being home, she said, rolling her eyes. Yeah, I'm still irritated about Wednesday night, but that was just par for the course with his personality). Dropped him off at work, then bopped out to the Richardson Radisson to attend the meet and greet for ConDFW and enjoy a particularly tasty Indian dinner with the lovely Julia Kosatka.

And now, I need to get some sleep in preparation for my 10:00 AM panel (sigh) on the FutureClassics. This ought to be interesting. . .
