Well, that
was. . .educational
Went
on an interview today.
Nice people, interesting work that I could do blindfolded and half-asleep
-- the only problem is that they're not offering nearly enough money
(a problem compounded by the extra-long drive out to Grapevine--
which would mean extra gas at a time when gas costs are rising sharply)
and the fact that they wouldn't offer health insurance for six months
-- which would mean I'd have to stay with COBRA, which is $410 a
month, ouch). So I told the headhunter I didn't think it was a good
fit. Judging from his lackluster response, that's probably the last
time I'll hear from him.
Which
leaves me with the semi-promise of an interview from the headhunter
agency I was at yesterday, a whole bunch of resumes making the rounds,
and my most sincere hopes that I'm employed by June. In other words,
arrgh.
The
only thing making this even semi-palatable is the fact that I'm
going to Stockholm next week for a couple of days, mainly as a stress-reduction
exercise for both Lyndon and me. And since most of my job-hunting
is being done on the web right now, I can keep hitting my favorite
websites to see what's available and send out resumes when appropriate
-- if anyone wants to talk to me, I can do a phone interview from
Stockholm and arrange a F2F when I get back.
Such fun. If anyone
wonders why I'm stressed, now you know.
