I have a
car
It's
pretty. It's red. It has a leather-covered steering wheel and gearshift.
And a CD player. And roadside assistance, insurance, and cruise
control.
And
it goes like shit off a shovel. Ahem. I now own a 2001 Impulse Red
Corolla S. Needless to say, this makes me very, very happy. It makes
Ed Giraldo at Toyota of Richardson even happier, I think. And it
makes my credit union happiest of all, because now I can stop calling
them and whining at them about my loan application and how I'm a
long-time TBS employee and when am I gonna get my caaaaaaaaaaaar?
Ahhhhhhh.
I have a townhouse, a car, and insurance. Now all I have to do is
sign up for the 401K plan at work and get Lyn's delectable ass over
here, and I'm pretty much set.
Well,
no, not completely. That will happen next week, when I have a set
of concert tickets in my hot little hands. And by the way, why did
nobody ever tell me about the Dave
Matthews Band? I mean, jeez, what do I keep you people around
for? I was stuck in the darkest depths of Europe -- ABBAland, people.
You were supposed to keep me updated on good things happening in
the States. So did I hear word one about DMB?
No.
Did
I have to figure out for myself that they were absolutely fucking
fabulous and go out to get their latest CD, "Everyday"?
Yes.
But I forgive you, as you were obviously stunned by the sheer beauty
and power of this music. This album could raise the dead, it really
could. And it's impossible to describe fully -- rock meets fusion
meets world beat meets something totally unique that makes you want
to dance, sing, and rip the clothes off your beloved and screw them
senseless, all at the same time.
Okay,
maybe the last option is just me (then again, Dave Matthews has
an incredibly powerful, sexy voice, and he's pretty damned cute
to boot). But in all seriousness, "Everyday" is one of
those gems where every song is great. You won't want to skip past
a single track, especially songs like "When the World Ends,"
"The Space Between" and "So Right."
Go,
buy it. You can thank me later.
