And the Dare resumes

Of course, barring a miracle of papal proportions, there's no way in hell I'm going to make 60,000 words by the end of the month. Well, this was a nasty month in which to try something like this, anyway -- I'm still kinda pleased with the progress I've made so far. I figure if I can end the month with 30,000 words, I'll be happy.

I also want to try and get something done for the SFF Net anthology before it closes at the end of the month. I had a page of something, but it just wasn't working the way I wanted. And then I had a most stupendous brainstorm at work -- typed the outline directly into an email, sent it home, and it's already halfway done. If I get enough free time this week, I may even be able to get it finished by the weekend, which would be faboo. Even if that doesn't work out, I sholuld be able to get it in to SFF Net before the deadline.

As for the house, it's looking better and better. The offices still looks like Aerosmith camped out in there, but that's actually okay -- I'd rather have those rooms used as the staging area for moving stuff back and forth while I get the bedroom and bathrooms cleared out. Ideally I wanted to have my office ready for Stacy to sleep in, but it looks like she'll probably be camping out on the sofa instead. The nice thing is that I have most of the videotapes out of their boxes and sitting on inexpensive white plastic racks (I think they were originally designed for bathroom use, but if you stack them two high they work fine as video racks), and the British TV/VCR is up and running, so if we get tired we can always flop out and watch cable or rental movies.
