I am SUCH a sucker

Why did I ever agree to go take a course the same week I had to move out of the apartment? Because I'm a sucker for someone making puppy dog eyes at me, that's why.

Foo. At least I was able to get 90% of the stuff over there (and my knees are reminding me of every ounce, too). I'm back in the Marquis tonight because 1) I need to sleep in a real bed tonight, 2) I want to enjoy the pleasures of a television while I still have access to one, and 3) I'd like to be able to sit down on something other than a toilet seat.

Note to self -- after class tomorrow, go out and get a chair. You need a new office chair anyway -- pick up one of those. Isn't Office Max having a sale of some sort?

Of course, what I really need to do right now is get in contact with Allied and get them to deliver my stuff. And since it's been in storage for more than the one month I got for free from TBS, I'm definitely going to have some storage fees due on it. Lovely.

Have I mentioned recently how much I hate moving?

And yes, I noticed that my word count for the day isn't nearly what it needs to be. It's going to be slow this week, simply because all of my time is going to be split between class, getting stuff for the townhouse, and running back to work to fix problems they're having. I'm trying to shoot for at least a thousand words a day, then I'll have to see if I can catch up over the weekend and next week. Whether or not I can actually achieve this is going to be an interesting exercise.

In the meantime, however, I did hammer out a K and one kick-ass of an opening scene, if I do say so myself (I was in the middle of the big scene where Jack finds out exactly where they want to send him and why, and realized I needed to show the scene where the White Knight grabs Maria the graduate student as hostage. It turned out to be the perfect way to kick off the book, so bonzer for me). I just had to wait until the Muse was able to catch up with the part of my brain that does the writing.

Well, that and actually writing the outline. It's amazing how much an outline helps.
