Uffda!

Today's the start of the WebRats February Masochist's Dare -- at least 2,000 words a day until the end of February. And I had to stay up until 12:50 am to do it, but by God I topped 2,000 today on WHITE KNIGHT, QUEEN ALICE. More importantly, it's good -- needs editing, of course, and there's probably too much of an info dump right at the beginning, but screw it, I'll fix it in the edit. Right now, I just have to nail my butt to a chair and dump this stuff onto the keyboard in all its hot, steaming glory.

Of course, keeping this up for the next 27 days is going to be a bitch and a half. But if I pull it off, I'll have most of a novel done by the beginning of March, which is nothing but good.

Amazingly enough, I also managed to get all the laundry done (including the new comforter for Julia when she drives up tomorrow), do my half-hour on the treadmill and tidy up in the bathroom. And now, she said with a weary smile, it's Miller time.
