Bemused Husband, Giggling Wife

I finally managed to get Lyndon out to the theater to see Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon tonight. His verdict: "I see the English haven't cornered the market on downbeat endings."

He then said that if this were an American movie, Jen would have made in back in time to save Mu Bai and gone on to become a Jedi, or whatever it was they were teaching at Wudan. Which led to a riff where Jen is standing on the bridge, about to jump, when she hears a polite cough behind her. She turns to see Obi-Wan Kenobi, who says, "I know you weren't expecting me, but Mu Bai was busy. I certainly hope you won't be as difficult as my last student -- you wouldn't believe the trouble I had with him. . ."

Have I mentioned recently that I'm married to a deeply disturbed and yet very funny man? I do love the sarcastic git so. I must -- I'm taking him in to get his Social Security card tomorrow, which will mean hours of sitting in a small, airless office surrounded by people who aren't clear on the concept of deodorant. But he needs the card, so we might as well do it now while things are relatively quiet at the office -- I get the feeling that things are going to start cooking as of May.

Hey, I have no problem with this -- it makes me feel slightly more secure in my job, after all.
