Whee -- I finally changed my writing stats!
I
know -- weelah. Well, I'm pleased -- I figure the German edition of "Crossing
the Border" (I did a search on Amazon.se and found DER HEIMLICHE
SPIEGEL listed under Lisa Tuttle's name -- as it was printed in 2000,
I suspect this is the German title for the anthology) counts as a reprint,
so that stat gets bumped up to 1. And I submitted "Happily Ever After"
to Kim Mohan at Amazing Stories this morning, so that stat also
gets bumped up to 1. Now I just have to finish "Dress Rehearsal"
and "A Robot In Your Future" and get those sent off -- and my
fevered brain, overtaxed by aerobics-released toxins, coughed up yet another
story idea last night, so I jotted down notes for that. Woof.
Actually, last night was really strange -- I couldn't get to sleep, but
my imagination was on fast forward, so I was in this weird headspace where
I was awake (well, kind of, anyway) and dreaming at the same time. I think
I would have enjoyed it more if I wasn't agonizingly aware of the fact
that I had to get up for work the next morning and really needed
to sleep. Meaning, of course, that there was no way in hell I could actually
relax enough to get to sleep. Vicious circles can be such fun.
On
an up side, Trey
was accepted to Clarion this summer! Good going, big guy! And yes, I'm
extremely jealous, seeing as this summer would have been the perfect time
for me to apply since I'd be between jobs and available for six weeks.
Of course, the big problem is that we'll also be between countries and
domiciles at that time, and spare cash for Clarion is not on the budget.
Oh, well -- I can always experience it vicariously through Trey's journal
(erm, you will be keeping it up while at Clarion, yes?).
