I may be somewhat delirious, so bear with me. I know I have the flu -- I'm feverish and dizzy whenever I stand up (I almost passed out in the checkout line at the supermarket yesterday). Thing is, I also feel remarkably stoned, and I can't even blame it on Actifed. It's like my sense of smell is incredibly sharp, all the colors are brighter and more intense, and it feels like someone's poured a sixpack of Jolt into my imagination gland.

Oh, no. Wait, that was me. Silly me.

And it's playing silly buggers with my dream cycle -- I had this dream about the Starfleet Ladies Auxiliary putting on a Broadway musical about the role of women in history, and I was rushing around because I had misplaced my costume and was about to go on in the scene about Famous Nuns (BTW, you have a marvelous alto in my dreams, Julia, and you look very nice in a wimple). I won't even get into the one about the space shuttle mission, training on this wave-swamped concrete pier in the Carribean, and Sir Ian Holm. Even I don't know what to make of that one.

But the good thing about all this is that Lyndon came up with this fucking fantastic idea for a submission to the SFFNet anthology "The Age of Wonders", and I'm going to be cowriting it with him (coauthorship with my honey -- whee!) after I finish tiptoeing through the National Geographic CDs for background and fleshing out some details. See, it's set at the 1939 World's Fair in Long Island, New York, and this go-get'em young reporter assigned to cover the fair winds up falling in love with a mad scientist's beautiful daughter after they both notice that something is seriously amiss in the House of the Future--

Enough -- I have to finish "Dress Rehearsal" and get cracking on this (yes, I'm still doing the book -- I'll start posting updates this weekend). But maybe some sleep first would be nice. Yes, I think I'll sleep.

Whee. . .
