Monday, Did anyone get the number of the truck that hit me?  Blech. There seems to be a new and special flu bug wandering around Stockholm at the moment, and I think it's just selected its newest victim. I took a cab home, despite my unofficial NYR that I'm going to walk as much as possible, because I was almost passing out on the keyboard.  I don't want to get sick now -- I only have two more days, then Thursday's a national holiday and I'm taking Friday off to make a four day weekend of cleaning, writing and other good things. I don't WANT to spend that time staggering around and feeling like something scraped out of the gutter, dammit. Lyndon, angel that he is, is heading off to the store to stock up on orange juice, Sprite and other foodstuffs (through yet another streetful of slush -- I swear, the weather here has been so schizo), and I'm going to do my best to curl up, drinks lots of OJ, take echinacea, and get over this buggering thing ASAP.  I know -- yet more details of my health, just what you wanted to hear. What else can I write about? Well, in celebration of Millenium Year I redesigned the index page for the journal -- it's a bit more streamlined and organized with the various links (although it always looks different at home -- I pull it up on the PC at work and everything's fine. I pull it up on the Mac at home, and suddenly I have these weird spaces all over the place. Annoying). I keep wondering if I should do something snazzier to the actual entry pages, then I think why bother? I like the white background, I like the imagemap at the top -- why fuss with something that works? I think it's just my innate desire to tinker -- actually, though, that would be nice, to have the ability to change the look of your webpage with just a few commands (and I mean one or two commands, not searching through every bloody page to make changes to the code). Go retro one week, punk the next, and kiddie-colored the week after that. Hmm. That gives me an idea for a Perl project. . . |
