Wednesday, Things of note for February 2: Brent Spiner comes out of a hole and sees his shadow, and it's the Groundhog's birthday. Or something like that.
By the way, does anyone other than me wonder if Spiner and k.d. lang were separated at birth? Then again, maybe they just share the same fashion designer. In any case, these pics give you some indication of what I mean, but when they're both wearing their glasses the resemblance really is spooky. I'd love to see them do a duet someday just for the freak-out value. Hum. I really don't have anything specific to say for today. Went into work, futzed around there, made some changes to the splash page of my home page (by the way, if you're reading this journal from Open Pages or Diarist.net, this page may look a little strange because it's actually meant to be viewed in the frame of my main website. If your browser can handle frames, go to http://www.io.com/~hoosier for the full flowering glory of my page. Otherwise, this is pretty decent, too), went home, uploaded said changes to my account, ate a peanut butter sandwich, did my workout, and crashed (yes, as you can guess, this is being written on the 3rd). Then again, I really, really needed it -- I've been having insomnia for the last few days and it was playing hell with my ability to function. I don't need the oceans of sleep I used to, but I do need about six hours a night if I want to be a human being the next day, and all I've been getting since Sunday were two and three hour chunks of sleep (I'd go to bed, doze, wake up with a start, see it was 2:00 am, doze some more, wake up with a start, see it was 5:00 am, yadda yadda). Not fun. Of course, I think the fact that I finally pushed up the center support of the bed (it's actually supporting the bed now, instead of flopping over like a drunk Essex girl) and changed one of my pillows for a fluffier one made a difference. Am I the only person who has to change the thickness of their pillows every so often? Sometimes I need them to be really fluffy and thick, and sometimes it's more comfortable to sleep on relatively thin ones. I dunno -- maybe I just have a really weird spinal column or something. But enough wittering about my backbone! Go on to the next entry -- God willing, it'll be a hell of a lot more interesting than this one. |
