Thursday, This has been a day of mixed emotions. On one hand, it's the Pink Princess's 999th birthday, so all the regulars on alt.culture.fabulous are busy giving our favorite dictatrix birthday wishes, as well as pink-furred Zimmer frames. On a darker note, a net.friend of Lyndon died of Cystic Fibrosis this week. Lyn found out about it first thing this morning when he logged on for his mail, and spent a half hour crying, poor angel. A group of friends spent this evening on-line in a virtual memorial service, which was nice, and it looks like a lot of them will be honoring their friend's last wishes by making donations to CF research. It's a nasty, painful disease, and Lyn's friend beat the odds by making it to 25. But eventually his body couldn't take the stress anymore, and he passed away on Tuesday. Lyn just kept shaking his head and saying, "He was always cheerful, always full of fun and sweet-natured, no matter how much pain he was in. Someone like that puts the average problems of life into perspective." |
